Make infrastructure a top priority – Obasanjo tells govs

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on Nigerian governors to give greater attention to infrastructure, describing it as a driving force for economic development and improved quality of life.

Obasanjo made the remark yesterday while commissioning the newly reconstructed Zanna Road in the Government Reservation Area, GRA, of Gusau, the Zamfara State capital. The project is part of Governor Dauda Lawal’s initiatives marking his second year in office.

The former president noted that sustainable development cannot be achieved without strong investments in infrastructure such as roads, health care, water supply, security, and communication.

He said the effort put into reconstructing the road and similar projects across the state indicates a leadership focused on addressing the basic needs of the people.
