Tech millionaire Elon Musk has announced his decision to ban hashtags from  ads starting June 27, 2025.

Musk announced the decision in a post on his X handle today.

“Starting tomorrow, the aesthetic nightmare that is hashtags will be banned from ads on X ,” the Tesla CEO said. 

reports that the move follows Musk’s December 2024 call to ditch hashtags, supported by user reports of better reach without them.

Some X users have described the development as a game changer, saying it’s a bold move for a cleaner and more classy feed.
