The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has announced a five-day warning strike beginning Friday, September 12, 2025, following an emergency National Executive Council meeting held online. The action will run until Tuesday, September 16.
NARD’s General Secretary, Agbor Affiong, confirmed the decision in a statement today, directing all centres to notify hospital managements and continue pushing for improved welfare, better pay, and recognition of their certificates.
NARD President Osundara Zenith earlier said members are shutting down public hospitals over poor working conditions, inadequate power supply, and low remuneration. The action comes as resident doctors in the FCT are already on a separate seven-day strike.
