Former Real Madrid midfielder Mutiu Adepoju has identified Morocco, Ivory Coast and Senegal as strong contenders for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, alongside Nigeria.

Adepoju made the remarks ahead of the Super Eagles’ quarter-final clash with Algeria’s Desert Warriors on Saturday.

Nigeria head into the encounter in confident form, having won all four of their matches in regular time at the tournament.

Speaking on Eagle7 Sports Radio, Adepoju said Morocco had been impressive despite facing a difficult second-round fixture.

“Ivory Coast have been very strong from the start and, like Nigeria, they keep improving,” he said, adding that Senegal have also made a clear statement at the competition.

According to Adepoju, the three teams, together with Nigeria, have shown the quality required to challenge for the title.

The winner of the Nigeria versus Algeria quarter-final will face host nation Morocco in the semi-finals on Wednesday, January 14, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
