Ilorin Chief Imam Muhammad Bashir Dies At 75

Tributes have continued to pour in following the death of the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Imam Solih (OON), who passed away on Monday morning in Abuja at the age of 75.

The respected Islamic cleric was widely regarded as one of the finest Muslim scholars in Ilorin’s history, known for his depth of knowledge, calm disposition and commitment to religious leadership.

In a condolence message, the mourner described the Imam’s death as shocking and deeply saddening, noting that it serves as a reminder of the transient nature of life, even for great men.

Sheikh Muhammad Bashir was praised for his outstanding scholarship, patience and good nature, as well as his exemplary service as the leading Imam in Kwara State.

Condolences were extended to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Ilorin Emirate, the Kwara State Council of Ulamah and the immediate family of the late Chief Imam.

Prayers were also offered for Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and grant strength and comfort to his family and the Muslim community.
