Kwara Government Condemns Kaiama Community Attacks

The Kwara State Government has condemned the recent bandit attacks on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, which reportedly left scores dead and several houses burned.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq expressed grief over the violence, describing the assaults as “cowardly attacks on civilians” in a statement issued by his spokesman on Tuesday.

“The governor condemns the attack, which he says is a cowardly expression of frustration by terrorist cells following ongoing counterterrorism operations and the successes recorded so far,” the statement read.

According to the governor, the attacks were likely intended to divert security forces from efforts that have successfully targeted terrorist and kidnapping gangs across the state.

Governor AbdulRazaq extended heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families, noting the tragedy’s deep impact on the Woro and Nuku communities.

The statement reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting security operations and protecting residents from further attacks.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local security agencies.

The incident underscores ongoing security challenges in parts of Kwara State, despite intensified counterterrorism campaigns.
