The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara Council, has announced with deep sorrow the passing of Comrade Layi Olarewaju, a committed elder and former chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel.

The announcement was made on Friday, 13 February, in a statement signed by the Chapel Chairman, Mr. Biola Azeez, and Secretary, Ms. Mosunmola Ayobami.

Comrade Olarewaju, who served as the Kwara State correspondent for The Sun newspaper, died earlier on Friday at a private hospital after a brief illness.

Renowned for his dedication, unifying influence, and wealth of experience in journalism, his contributions to the profession will be greatly missed.

The Correspondents’ Chapel prayed for God’s comfort for his family, colleagues, and friends, asking for strength to bear the loss of the esteemed journalist.
