Christian pilgrims from Kwara State have arrived safely in Jordan, marking the start of the 2025 pilgrimage, which will also include visits to Israel.

The statement was issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, Mrs. Omolola Christiana Asonibare.

Chairman of the Kwara State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Evangelist Prof. Timothy Oloyede Opoola, confirmed the arrival and expressed appreciation to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for supporting the exercise. He said the state government provided the necessary logistics to ensure a smooth and hitch-free journey.

Opoola noted that the governor’s intervention enabled many faithful to undertake the pilgrimage and called on Christians to continue praying for the peace of Kwara State and for divine protection against insecurity. He also urged prayers for wisdom, good health, and long life for the governor.

According to him, the Christian community remains grateful for what he described as the administration’s fairness and inclusiveness, pledging continued support and commitment to peaceful coexistence in the state.
