NSCDC Appoints Bala Bodinga Kwara Commandant

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has appointed Commandant Bala Bodinga as its 15th substantive state commandant.

The deployment, approved by NSCDC Commandant-General Ahmed Audi, is part of efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness across state commands, according to a statement issued Monday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC I Ayoola Shola.

Bodinga, described as a seasoned officer with extensive operational and administrative experience, previously served as state commandant in Kebbi, Jigawa and Kano states. He also held the position of National Arm Commander, Special Forces, at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Sauka, Abuja.

Shortly after assuming office, Bodinga warned criminal elements to steer clear of Kwara State, vowing a crackdown on vandalism, illegal mining, pipeline sabotage and other offences.

“Kwara State is not, and will never be, a safe haven for criminals. Anyone who chooses to sabotage government infrastructure or engage in criminal acts will face the full weight of the law,” he said.

He pledged to strengthen intelligence-driven operations and deepen collaboration with other security agencies, traditional institutions and community leaders to enhance safety across the state.

The command urged residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information to support ongoing efforts to protect lives, property and critical national assets.
