Troops Neutralize Ex-Boko Haram Commander in Zamfara

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, working with local vigilantes and hunters, have neutralized Abdullahi Mafa, a former hybrid Boko Haram commander, in Madagali, Zamfara State.

The operation took place on Thursday along the Visik River line, where troops engaged suspected Boko Haram fighters in an ambush, according to security expert Zagazola Makama.

In a separate raid in Madagali Local Government Area, security forces arrested Dauda Usman Gubula, a suspected Boko Haram logistics and drone supplier.

Makama noted that the items recovered from the suspect included two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks, highlighting the operational support he provided to the insurgents.

The arrested suspect is currently in custody and undergoing investigation, authorities said.

Troops, alongside local security collaborators, continue to intensify efforts to dismantle Boko Haram networks in the region.

Officials stressed that such operations aim to restore security and protect residents in vulnerable communities across Zamfara State.

The military has called on residents to cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities to enhance ongoing counterterrorism operations.

This development marks another tactical success in Operation HADIN KAI’s ongoing campaign against insurgent elements in northern Nigeria.
