Sanusi Accuses Lagos APC Chair of Bias, Seeks Withdrawal of Council List

Former Managing Director of the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), Mobolaji Sanusi, has accused the Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cornelius Ojelabi, of exhibiting bias in the management of party affairs in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

In a letter dated March 4, Sanusi described the recently released list of supervisory councillors for Ojokoro LCDA as non-inclusive and inconsistent with earlier assurances of balanced representation by the state leadership.

While congratulating Ojelabi on his re-election as state chairman, Sanusi expressed concern over what he called the “uninspiring and condemnable” handling of party matters in the council under his leadership.

He alleged that the supervisory councillors’ list failed to reflect the interests of key stakeholders in the area and appeared skewed toward a particular group within the party.

Sanusi called for the immediate withdrawal of the list, urging the chairman to make adjustments to ensure broader representation. “The list appears one-sided and does not demonstrate the inclusiveness you promised,” he said, adding that party members in Ojokoro expect leadership that represents all factions.

He argued that the development contradicts assurances allegedly given by Ojelabi after the controversial local government primaries last year, during which the state chairman reportedly promised to accommodate aggrieved stakeholders to promote unity.

Sanusi also claimed he won the APC chairmanship primaries in Ojokoro but was later denied the ticket. He said he accepted the outcome in the interest of party peace but expressed concern that recent decisions have reignited tensions among members.

He further criticised the handling of a petition submitted by some Ojokoro party members during the APC congress, alleging that it was dismissed on the grounds that it was statute-barred. He also claimed that some individuals listed for positions had already served multiple terms in ward or local government executive roles, contrary to party guidelines.

Sanusi urged the state leadership to review and replace the supervisory councillors’ list to restore confidence and prevent further divisions within the Ojokoro APC structure.
