Cynosure Denies Role in Socialite Jessica Elena’s Death

Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital has denied involvement in the death of Nigerian socialite Jessica Elena, following reports linking the facility to complications from a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.

The controversy arose after a video circulated online showing a woman, believed to be Jessica Elena, lying on a hospital bed in visible distress while receiving medical attention post-surgery. The clip quickly went viral, prompting public outrage and widespread speculation about the hospital’s role.

In an official statement posted on its Instagram page on March 10, 2026, Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital said the video was not recorded at its facility. The management stressed that it could not verify the location or the authenticity of the footage.

“Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital is aware of a video circulating on social media showing a patient screaming during a surgical procedure, which is being falsely attributed to our facility,” the statement read. “We state clearly: this video was not recorded at our clinic, and we do not know the location or facility where it occurred.”

The hospital urged the public to avoid sharing unverified content, noting that misinformation can cause additional distress to the grieving family.

While expressing condolences to the family of Jessica Elena, Cynosure called on social media users to handle the situation with sensitivity and respect.

The incident has reignited debates in Nigeria over the safety of cosmetic procedures, particularly BBL surgeries, and the increasing demand for body enhancement treatments.

Cosmetic surgery experts have warned that complications can arise when procedures are performed in unlicensed facilities or without proper post-operative care, emphasizing the need for patient vigilance and regulatory oversight.

The case continues to draw national attention as authorities and medical professionals weigh in on the risks associated with elective aesthetic procedures.

Jessica Elena’s death underscores ongoing concerns about the regulation of cosmetic surgeries in Nigeria and the importance of ensuring procedures are conducted in certified, reputable clinics.
