Fuel prices at several filling stations in Abuja have largely remained unchanged, about 24 hours after Dangote Refinery raised its petrol price by ₦100 increment.
The refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, increased its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to ₦1,175 per litre on Friday. Such adjustments by the refinery often trigger retail price changes across the country.
However, checks on Saturday showed that outlets operated by Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in the capital were still selling petrol at ₦1,261 per litre.
Other filling stations, including AA Rano, Ranoil and NIPCO, were also observed selling fuel within the range of ₦1,230 to ₦1,330 per litre across different parts of the city.
One outlet, Optima filling station located near the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission headquarters, had already raised its pump price by ₦50 to ₦1,270 per litre, up from ₦1,220.
Meanwhile, some MRS Oil Nigeria stations reportedly linked to Dangote Refinery had yet to resume petrol sales in parts of Abuja since Friday.
The refinery’s price adjustment came shortly after global crude oil prices climbed above $100 per barrel, prompting a rapid response in domestic fuel pricing.
