The Federal Secretariat in Abuja will have all access roads leading to and around its Phases I, II, and III closed from Friday, March 27, to Saturday, March 28, 2026, due to the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress at Eagle Square.
A circular issued by the Secretariat advised that all ministries, extra-ministerial departments, agencies, and offices within the complex, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are required to work from home on Friday, March 27.
The closure is aimed at ensuring security and smooth operations during the party’s convention.
Permanent Secretaries and heads of agencies have been instructed to inform their staff about the closure and enforce strict compliance with the directive.
Officials and employees are urged to plan accordingly and make alternative arrangements for work and travel during the two-day period.
The Secretariat stressed that the temporary restriction of access applies to all personnel within the designated phases of the complex.
Authorities said the decision was necessary to manage traffic and ensure safety around Eagle Square during the high-profile political event.
Personnel with urgent official matters are advised to coordinate remotely with their offices during the closure.
This measure is part of broader security arrangements by the Federal Capital Territory Administration in coordination with the party and federal agencies.
Members of the public and staff are encouraged to monitor official updates for any changes or additional instructions during the closure period.
