Tinubu Diverts Ogun Trip to Plateau Over Security Attacks

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his scheduled trip to Iperu, Ogun State, originally planned for Friday, where he was to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport.

Instead, the President will visit Jos, Plateau State to console the government and residents following recent gun attacks that resulted in civilian casualties.

From Plateau, Tinubu will travel to Lagos State to observe Good Friday.

On Saturday, April 4, the President is scheduled to return to Ogun State for the commissioning of the Cargo Airport and the inauguration of two commercial aircraft for import and export operations, aimed at boosting the state’s economic growth.

He will also inaugurate the new building of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigerian Customs Service and its operational vehicles.

During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu will oversee the commissioning of several infrastructure projects undertaken by the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. These include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System building, a Multi-Agency Complex named after the President, and a school complex.

Before returning to Abuja, the President will travel to Bayelsa State on April 10 to commission completed projects under Governor Duoye Diri.

The rescheduled itinerary reflects the federal government’s priority on responding to security incidents while maintaining planned developmental engagements across states.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, provided details of the adjustments to Tinubu’s travel plans.
