Henry Backs Arsenal as Strong Champions League Contenders

Former France striker Thierry Henry has described Arsenal F.C. as the “most solid team” remaining in the UEFA Champions League, but warned that a key weakness could still affect their chances of winning the title.

Henry made the assessment after Arsenal secured a 1–0 victory over Sporting CP in the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Tuesday night, with Kai Havertz scoring the decisive late goal.

Arsenal’s defensive strength has been central to their European campaign this season. Goalkeeper David Raya delivered an impressive performance in the match, as the club maintained a record of conceding just five goals in 11 Champions League fixtures.

Their defensive form has also been consistent domestically, with Arsenal F.C. conceding only 22 goals in 31 Premier League matches so far this season.

“For me they are the most solid team in the Champions League,” Henry said during an appearance on CBS Sports.

He also highlighted the team’s effectiveness from set-pieces as a major strength, noting that while critics sometimes question that aspect of their play, it remains an important advantage.

Henry, however, cautioned that despite their defensive discipline and tactical strengths under manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal must address remaining weaknesses if they are to go all the way and lift the trophy.
