Kwara Governor Visits Injured Soldiers, Announces Support

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday paid a visit to six soldiers receiving treatment after sustaining injuries during a recent counterterrorism operation in Kaiama Local Government Area.

The soldiers were injured in a fierce exchange with armed assailants during which several of the attackers were killed. Three soldiers also lost their lives in the operation.

During the visit, the governor announced financial support for the affected personnel, pledging N20 million each for the families of the fallen soldiers and N5 million for each of those injured.

He described the sacrifices of members of the armed forces as invaluable, noting that their service continues to play a critical role in maintaining security in the state and across the country.

AbdulRazaq also commended the medical care being provided at the Intensive Care Unit of the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, where the injured soldiers are being treated, describing the facility as part of his administration’s investment in the health sector.

He thanked the security personnel for their continued efforts in defending the country, reaffirming the state government’s support for ongoing counterterrorism operations in Kwara.
