
The city of Ibadan came alive on Saturday, April 25, 2026, as Qasim Egbewole, son of Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, married Zainab Aleem in a well-attended ceremony held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
The event drew a large gathering of dignitaries from the legal, academic, political, and traditional institutions, reflecting the prominence of both families.
The ceremony was chaired by Lateef Fagbemi, who was represented by Ishaq Olanrewaju Oloyede.

Notable attendees included the Chairman of the University of Ilorin Governing Council, Abiodun Jacob Aluko; legal luminary Yusuf Olaolu Ali; and Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu.
Principal officers of the University of Ilorin were also present, alongside vice-chancellors from several universities across Kwara State and beyond, as well as traditional rulers and religious leaders.
Among them were the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Ismail Alebiosu, and prominent Islamic scholars, including Ishaq Lakin Akintola.

Delivering the sermon, AbdulAfeez Oladosu advised the couple to build their marriage on love, mutual respect, and the fear of God, urging them to resolve conflicts amicably without external interference.
He reminded them that marriage comes with challenges and encouraged patience and perseverance, citing relevant Qur’anic verses to support his message.
Other clerics, including Dr. Mudashir Atanda Bada, Dr. Y.K. Jummah, and Prof. Abdulrasaq Abdulmajeed Alaro, also counselled the couple to uphold strong moral values and emulate the exemplary lives of their parents.
The ceremony was marked by a blend of solemnity and celebration, as guests joined the families to witness the union and offer prayers for a peaceful and enduring marriage.
