Kwara APC Reschedules Governorship Primary to Friday

The new governorship primary election committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has confirmed that the party’s governorship primary election will now take place on Friday.

The committee, headed by former Minister and APC chieftain Musiliu Obanikoro, met with governorship aspirants at the party’s secretariat in Ilorin to discuss arrangements for the rescheduled exercise.

The primary election was earlier suspended midway on Thursday by the state chapter of the party, raising concerns among party members and aspirants.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Obanikoro attributed the suspension to logistical challenges encountered during the process.

He assured party members that the issues had been resolved and that adequate preparations had been made for a fresh exercise across the state’s 193 wards on Friday.

According to him, the committee is committed to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and credible primary election.
