BREAKING….. Fire Outbreak Sparks Panic at National Assembly

Panic broke out at the National Assembly on Wednesday following a fire incident in the Senate wing of the complex.

The fire reportedly occurred at Hearing Room 107 shortly after the Senate Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission concluded the screening of Dr. Zainab Marwa, a nominee for the North-East representative position on the commission’s board.

A video from the scene showed National Assembly staff using fire extinguishers to contain the blaze before it spread further within the building.

No injuries or casualties were reported as of the time of filing this report.

According to reports by TVC, the fire may have been triggered by a microwave left switched on in the kitchen area near the hearing room, although officials have yet to confirm the exact cause.

Sources at the National Assembly also alleged that journalists covering proceedings at the complex were instructed by some committee officials to delete photographs and video recordings taken during the incident.

The fire was eventually brought under control, while normal activities gradually resumed within the complex.
