Darul-Kitab Alumni Hail Appointment of Ilorin Chief Imam

The Alumni Association of Darul-Kitab wa Sunnah College, Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin, has commended the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for appointing Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani as the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate.

In a statement, the association described the appointment as a source of pride and joy for its members, noting that the new Chief Imam is a distinguished alumnus whose scholarship, humility and dedication to Islamic service reflect the values instilled by the institution.

According to the alumni body, Sheikh Dasuki’s emergence is not only a personal achievement but also a testament to the culture of learning, leadership and piety promoted by Darul-Kitab wa Sunnah College.

The association praised the Emir for what it described as a wise and timely decision, stating that the appointment would further strengthen the spiritual and moral leadership of the Ilorin Emirate.

The group also acknowledged the contributions of the founder of the college, Sheikh Abdulqadir Alfa Oba Sholagberu, the first Mallami Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate and Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja. It said the institution has continued to produce scholars and leaders who serve the Muslim community with distinction.

“The appointment of Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki is a reflection of the enduring legacy of an institution built on knowledge, character and service,” the statement noted.

The association pledged its support and prayers for the new Chief Imam as he assumes office, praying for wisdom, strength and divine guidance in leading the Muslim Ummah.

It also prayed for continued peace, unity and prosperity in the Ilorin Emirate under the leadership of the Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
