The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a five-member reconciliation committee to address grievances arising from the party’s recent primary elections.
The committee, chaired by Chief Obi Onwuachu, was announced during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting held on Friday at the APC State Secretariat in Awka. Other members include Ichie Mike Ejezie, Chief Amechi Chinweze, Chief Chris Akaghalu, and Chief Mrs. Tina Aronu.
According to the party, the committee has been tasked with reconciling aggrieved members and fostering unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At the meeting, led by the state chairman, Senator Emma Anosike, stakeholders also ratified the expulsion of seven members accused of violating the party’s constitution by taking internal disputes to court.
The party further unveiled its senatorial candidates for the 2027 elections in Anambra State. Chief Mrs. Chibuogwu Benson-Oraelosi emerged as the candidate for Anambra South, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Kene-Chiedu for Anambra Central, and Chief Kingsley Nnalue for Anambra North.
Addressing party members, Anosike expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects in the state and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
He stressed the importance of grassroots mobilisation through ward structures and urged members to remain united, describing the APC as a strong political force ahead of the next election cycle.
Anosike also reiterated the party’s stance against members seeking judicial intervention in internal matters, noting that such actions are contrary to APC regulations.
