
The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Kano State.
Mustapha will run alongside Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the party’s governorship candidate, as the NDC intensifies preparations for the upcoming polls.
The appointment was confirmed on Monday by the spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Habibu Saleh Mohammed, in a statement.
According to Mohammed, Gwarzo formally unveiled Mustapha Kwankwaso as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
Mustapha Kwankwaso is the eldest son of the NDC’s vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a prominent political figure and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
The announcement adds another chapter to the party’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections in Kano State.
