Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsamiro is expected to return to Inter Milan after a proposed permanent transfer to Pisa collapsed.
Akinsamiro spent last season on loan at Pisa and impressed despite the club’s relegation from Serie A. The 21-year-old made 24 league appearances and contributed one assist during the campaign.
Pisa had been prepared to activate the €7.5 million purchase clause in the midfielder’s contract. However, the deal reportedly broke down during the final stage of document exchanges.
The failed transfer means Akinsamiro will return to Inter Milan, where his future remains uncertain ahead of the new season.
According to reports from Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the young midfielder is attracting interest from several Bundesliga clubs and could secure a move to Germany.
Inter Milan are understood to be open to either a loan arrangement or a permanent transfer should a suitable offer arrive.
Akinsamiro, regarded as one of Nigeria’s promising young talents, will now await a decision on his next destination as clubs continue to monitor his situation.
