
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and ensuring the All Progressives Congress (APC) records a sweeping victory in the 2027 general elections.
The governor made the declaration during an interactive meeting with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, according to a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Yusuf said Kano would play a leading role in delivering votes for President Tinubu, stressing that the APC administration in the state had no regrets over its support for the President.
“We have no apology for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His re-election is a collective responsibility of every party member and government official,” the governor said.
He directed all political appointees who are yet to register as APC members to do so immediately, insisting that every elected and appointed official must actively contribute to strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The governor also reiterated his administration’s resolve to secure victories for the APC in the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections.
As part of measures to reward political office holders, Yusuf approved the allocation of plots of land to more than 300 political aides, including senior special assistants, special assistants, senior special reporters, special reporters and personal assistants. He also approved a cash grant of N100,000 for each beneficiary.
Speaking at the meeting, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, said the APC remained committed to promoting President Tinubu’s achievements in Kano, adding that constituency projects executed with the governor’s support had strengthened the party’s popularity.
Also addressing party members, Kano APC Chairman Umar Haruna Doguwa declared that the party was fully prepared for the 2027 elections, expressing confidence that it would defeat the Kwankwasiyya movement and emerge victorious.
