Kano Governor Rallies APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has declared that the state is fully committed to delivering victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, pledging massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The governor made the declaration during an interactive session with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, according to a statement issued by his spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Yusuf said Kano would play a leading role in securing votes for President Tinubu and described the President’s re-election as a collective responsibility of party members and government officials.

He directed all political appointees who are yet to register with the APC to do so immediately, stressing that every elected and appointed official must actively participate in strengthening the party ahead of the polls.

The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring the APC wins the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections in 2027.

As part of efforts to motivate political office holders, Yusuf approved the allocation of plots of land to more than 300 political aides, including senior special assistants, special assistants, senior special reporters, special reporters and personal assistants. Each beneficiary will also receive N100,000.

Speaking at the meeting, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ismail Falgore, said the APC would continue to promote the achievements of President Tinubu, while the party’s state chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, expressed confidence that the APC would defeat the Kwankwasiyya movement in 2027.

The meeting concluded with elected and appointed officials passing a vote of confidence on President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf, while pledging to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
