
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kwara State, Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu (SBK), has expressed sadness over the death of renowned Ilorin Islamic Waka singer, Alhaja Ruqoyat Batimoluwasi.
In a condolence message, Kawu described her passing as a significant loss to the Ilorin Emirate, the Muslim Ummah and the cultural heritage of Kwara State.
He said the late Batimoluwasi made lasting contributions to Islamic propagation through her music, using Islamic Waka to promote moral values, spiritual enlightenment and the preservation of Islamic teachings and the rich cultural traditions of Ilorin.
Kawu noted that her commitment to faith and her exceptional talent earned her admiration across generations, leaving behind a legacy that would continue to inspire many.
The PDP governorship candidate extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, the Ilorin Emirate, the Muslim community and all those whose lives were impacted by her works.
He prayed that Almighty Allah forgives her shortcomings, accepts her good deeds, grants her Al-Jannatul Firdaus and gives her family, friends and admirers the strength to bear the loss.
