Former First Lady Aisha Buhari attended a memorial event in Abuja on Monday to mark the first anniversary of the death of her husband, former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s President from 2015 to 2023, died in London on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82 after a prolonged illness.

He was buried in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in accordance with Islamic rites.

The anniversary event brought together family members, associates and other dignitaries to honor the late former president and reflect on his life and public service.
