Former APC Executives Defect to PRP in Bauchi

Some former executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State have defected to the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), citing dissatisfaction with the ruling party’s leadership and internal affairs.

The former APC officials announced their defection at a meeting coordinated by Hon. Maiwada Bakoji Misau and Hon. Shehu Dubagari Misau, describing the move as a “political awakening” aimed at promoting justice, fairness and inclusive leadership in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the defectors said they left the APC because of what they described as a lack of internal democracy, poor leadership and the neglect of grassroots members. They added that they were joining the PRP to pursue politics focused on public service, empowerment and meaningful development.

The new members also pledged to mobilize support for the PRP ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence in the party’s vision and leadership.

Welcoming the defectors, PRP leaders assured them of equal opportunities and full participation in the party’s activities. They reaffirmed the party’s commitment to justice, unity, transparency and people-centered leadership, while urging members to remain united as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
