Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has dismissed two commissioners in a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at repositioning his administration.
The affected officials are Mohammed Salis Gamawa, Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Investment, and Dr Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam, who most recently served as Commissioner for Power, Science and Technology after previously heading the Ministry of Education.
The governor also accepted the resignation of the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Faruk Mustapha, who recently defected from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development was announced in a statement issued on Friday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
According to the statement, Governor Mohammed has forwarded the names of nominees to replace the outgoing commissioners, along with other nominees to fill existing vacancies in the State Executive Council, to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The governor thanked the affected officials for their service and contributions to the development of the state during their time in office.
He wished them success in their future endeavours and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a more responsive and results-driven government for the people of Bauchi State.
