The management of Emirate Radio 98.5 FM, Ilorin has held a strategic meeting with the Industrial Training Fund, ITF, Kwara Area Office on areas of collaboration to promote skills acquisition and youth empowerment in the state.
The visit, led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Emirate Radio, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, was received by the Head of Training at ITF Kwara, Alhaji Ibrahim Onipe among other management staff.
Speaking during the meeting, the Head of Human Resource of ITF, Mr. Dele Akande expressed joy over the visit of the delegation and thanked the Radio Station for sensitizing the public, especially youths, women, artisans and rural dwellers on ITF’s training programmes, SIWES placement, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
He noted that radio remains a critical tool for reaching communities across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State and commended Emirate Radio for its commitment to public enlightenment.
Earlier in his remarks, Dr. Arowona said the partnership will focus on public awareness campaigns in English, Yoruba, Hausa and Nupe, as well as community mobilization and feedback channels to address challenges faced by citizens in accessing ITF programmes.
He added that Emirate Radio 98.5 FM, as The Voice of The People, is committed to supporting the Federal Government’s drive to reduce unemployment through skills development and vocational training.
The partnership is expected to increase awareness and accessibility of ITF’s interventions and ensure that more residents of Kwara State benefit from skills acquisition opportunities.
