The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU, says it has absolute confidence in the integrity and professionalism of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Lagos, AIG Moshood Olohundare Jimoh.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday, July 24, 2026 by the National Publicity Secretary of the Union, Mallam Suleiman Shuaib Dagbo.

According to the Union, the umbrella sociocultural organisation of the people of Ilorin Emirate in Kwara State, AIG Jimoh has over the years distinguished himself as a promoter of peace, fairness and justice in the Nigeria Police Force.

The National President of IEDPU, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, said the Emirate has been following with keen interest allegations against the senior police officer by a social media commentator in connection with the Ajiran murder case.

Alhaji Abdulmalik, who described AIG Jimoh as an alumnus of one of the Union’s schools, noted that the police officer has built a reputation for dedication, professionalism and commitment to justice.

While acknowledging the right of individuals to seek justice, the IEDPU President warned against attempts to tarnish the hard-earned reputations of innocent citizens, especially those charged with the responsibility of maintaining law and order.

He encouraged AIG Jimoh not to be deterred by the antics of critics, but to continue discharging his duties diligently.

Alhaji Abdulmalik further assured the senior police officer of the prayers and support of the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, and the entire people of Ilorin Emirate.
