One of the younger sisters of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaja Afusat Sulu-Gambari-Maiyaki, has passed on.
She died on Wednesday in Ilorin after a brief ilness. Alhaja Afusat was until her death the widow of the late Magaji Maiyaki of Ilorin, Alhaji Musa Maiyaki.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Emir’s Spokesman, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona, stressing that the deseased was a daughter of the late 9th Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Zulqarnain Gambari Mohammed.
She was a mother, grand-mother, a woman of deep faith, humility, and service to her community and known for her kindness, generosity, and commitment to the welfare of the less privileged.
In this moment of grief, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, expressed his heartfelt grief over the incidence, but with total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
Late Alhaja Afusat was buried yesterday at her residence at the Adewole estate, the janazah was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani.
The Emir prayed Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, accept her good deeds, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus.
We also pray that Allah gives the Emir, the royal family, and all mourners the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
