Pastor Titilayo Adewale, daughter of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, has denied issuing a viral statement alleging that the church’s leadership sidelined her father’s legacy.

In a statement posted on her Facebook page on Monday, Adewale described the circulating claim as false, saying she never criticised the church or its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

“My attention has been drawn to a statement attributed to me regarding The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the legacy of my father. I want to clarify that the statement attributed to me is not from me, either implicitly or explicitly,” she said.

Adewale stressed that her father never sought earthly recognition and would not have been concerned about whether his name or image appeared on church buildings or institutions.

She added that her father’s greatest legacy was the lives he transformed rather than physical structures, noting that he was committed to building people above acquiring material possessions.

According to her, Pa Akindayomi was reluctant to own personal property during his lifetime, making it unlikely that he would have desired public recognition through monuments or institutions bearing his name.

Adewale said the viral reports were intended to create unnecessary controversy and division rather than reflect her views or those of her late father.

She urged those responsible for spreading the false claims to desist from further misinformation and avoid actions capable of causing discord within the church.

The cleric also expressed support for Pastor Adeboye and the RCCG leadership, praying for wisdom and strength for them while wishing members of the church a successful convention.
