Nigerian skit maker and content creator Peller has alleged that some of the dollar notes sprayed on him during his recent wedding ceremony with fellow content creator Jarvis were counterfeit.

Speaking in a video shared online, Peller said he took the money to the bank, where he confirmed that the Nigerian currency he received was genuine. However, he claimed that several of the dollar notes turned out to be fake.

According to him, he was initially excited after the ceremony and believed he had received a substantial amount of money before discovering that some of the foreign currency was not authentic.

“I went to the bank, and the Nigerian money was genuine. A lot of people gave me Nigerian currency, and I appreciate that. I know those who gave me genuine money because I saw them,” he said.

He added, “Some people gave me fake dollars. When I got home, I felt like a millionaire and even used the money to make a video. Later, I realised the dollars were fake. Since I tried to exchange them, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. Is it by force to spray money?”

Peller maintained that while he could identify those who gifted him genuine Nigerian currency, he discovered the alleged counterfeit dollar notes only after returning home and attempting to use them.

The content creator’s claims have sparked reactions on social media, although there has been no official confirmation from relevant authorities regarding the authenticity of the dollar notes.
