Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2baba, has condemned the wave of deadly attacks in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, allegedly carried out by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen.

The Benue-born artiste visited Otukpo-Nobi community on Wednesday to sympathise with residents following the July 12, 2026, attack in which at least 10 people were killed and several others injured.

Speaking during the visit, 2Baba described the continued bloodshed as unacceptable and called on government, community leaders and other stakeholders to work together to end the violence.

“It’s becoming too much now; we can’t pretend anymore. We need to begin planning. It won’t be automatic, but there is definitely going to be a solution,” he said.

He stressed that addressing the insecurity would require collective effort, adding, “It’s not going to be one person. We all need to come together and fight it. I came to sympathise with you all. It’s painful.”

Otukpo and several other communities in Benue State have witnessed repeated attacks in recent months, with many residents reportedly killed in incidents attributed to suspected armed herdsmen.

The latest attack on Otukpo-Nobi has renewed calls for stronger security measures and lasting solutions to the recurring violence in the state.
