The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has urged voters in Osun State to support its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the August 15 election.

The party said the poll presented an opportunity for Osun residents to elect a new administration focused on effective leadership, accountability and equitable distribution of resources.

In a statement issued in Ibadan on Sunday, Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, criticised the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, accusing it of poor governance, nepotism, wastefulness and uneven distribution of appointments and infrastructure.

“Osun voters should save their state from charlatans and comedians who have been in the saddle for close to four years, with only the record of wastefulness, nepotism and brigandage to show,” the party said.

The APC also alleged that the state had become divided under the current administration and claimed that political differences had strained relations between the governors of Osun and Oyo and their counterparts in the South-West.

It said the August 15 election offered voters an opportunity to choose a leader capable of promoting unity and accelerating development.

The party described Oyebamiji as “the ideal man for the job,” saying an APC administration would prioritise peace, accountability and development.

The Osun election is expected to be closely contested, with major political parties campaigning for support ahead of the poll.
