The University of Ilorin has commended two outgoing administrators, Prof. Ibrahim Adisa Raufu and Prof. Biodun Sulyman Alabi, for their contributions to the development of the institution as they handed over their respective offices to their successors.

At the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), colleagues and stakeholders praised Raufu for his performance as Director during a ceremony held at the hospital’s boardroom on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

A former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Suleiman Folorunso Ambali, described Raufu as a “superb administrator” who was committed to the hospital’s progress, including making personal sacrifices when necessary.

The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. S. A. Ameen, also commended Raufu for his integrity, transparency and dedication, while other faculty members and hospital staff credited him with improving service delivery and strengthening relations between the faculty and the hospital.

In his response, Raufu described his tenure, which lasted from November 2022 to July 2026, as an opportunity to serve and learn. He thanked the university management and hospital staff for their support, saying the achievements recorded during his tenure would not have been possible without their cooperation.

He identified improved service delivery, a cash balance of more than ₦25 million and drugs valued at over ₦7 million as some of the major achievements he left behind.

Meanwhile, the immediate past Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Prof. Biodun Sulyman Alabi, has expressed confidence that his successor, Prof. Muhammed Adeboye, will take the college to greater heights.

During the formal handover on July 31, Alabi described Adeboye as experienced, hardworking and dedicated. He urged staff and students to support the new administration.

Adeboye thanked his predecessor for repositioning the college and pledged to run an inclusive administration, assuring the university community that the college’s progress would remain a priority.
