The Nigerian Army has opened applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027 for eligible Nigerians, including qualified civilians and serving military personnel.

The Army announced the recruitment in a statement on Tuesday, saying successful candidates would be commissioned into its Combat Arms and Combat Support Arms.

The Combat Arms comprise Infantry and Armour, while the Combat Support Arms include Artillery, Engineers, Signals and the Intelligence Corps.

Prospective applicants are required to apply through the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal, select the SSCC option and follow the application instructions carefully.

The Army warned applicants against unauthorised recruitment websites and announcements, urging them to rely only on its official channels for verified information.

The service also advised prospective applicants to watch for official recruitment jingles on television and radio stations following the announcement of the exercise.

The application deadline is October 17, 2026.
