Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have neutralised two suspected terrorists and recovered an AK-47 rifle during an operation in Plateau State.

The operation took place on Monday, August 10, at Nwur village in Langtang North Local Government Area, according to an operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday.

The troops had mobilised to the area with an arrested suspected bandit to recover an AK-47 rifle allegedly concealed by the suspect.

The report said the troops came under attack while approaching the village and responded, killing two of the attackers.

The arrested suspect accompanying the troops was also killed during the encounter, while no military personnel was injured.

Following the engagement, the troops searched the area and recovered an AK-47 rifle, one magazine and two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

The report said troops continued operations in the area to locate and apprehend other fleeing members of the suspected criminal group.
