The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Saadudeen Adebayo Kuranga, father of Professor Sulyman Kuranga, former Chief Medical Director of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, UITH.

The Emir described late Alhaji Saadudeen who passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, 12th August 2026 as a pious elderstatesman who contributed immensely to humanity.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Emir’s Spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari added that late Alhaji Saadudeen was a pious, respected, and community-minded elder whose life was worthy of emulation.

“On behalf of the Ilorin Emirate Council and the entire people of Ilorin Emirate, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Professor Sulyman Kuranga, the Kuranga family of Adabata Area and all their relations,” the Emir stated.

The Emir prayed that Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his good deeds, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Ameen.
