The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has denied involvement in the alleged leakage of the recently concluded Common Entrance Examination results in the state.

The board, led by its Executive Chairman, Dr Nureni Adeniran, described the allegation, reportedly made during a radio programme in Ibadan, as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and made available to journalists in Ibadan, OYOSUBEB said it had no role in the conduct, setting, production or handling of questions for the examination.

“For the avoidance of doubt, OYOSUBEB is not involved at any stage in the conduct, setting, production or handling of questions for the Common Entrance Examination,” the board said.

It added that any attempt to link Adeniran, the board or its officials to the alleged leakage was “completely unfounded.”

The board said the administration under Adeniran had maintained transparency, accountability and professionalism in carrying out its responsibilities. It also urged journalists and broadcasters to verify information before airing allegations against public institutions or officials.

OYOSUBEB specifically appealed to the management and presenters of the radio station, as well as other media organisations, to exercise caution and ensure accuracy in their reports.

It warned that defamatory statements, false allegations or what it described as a continued smear campaign against Adeniran could lead to legal action.

The board said it remained focused on strengthening basic education in Oyo State and would continue working with stakeholders to promote quality, transparency and accountability in the sector.

It urged the public to disregard the allegation and rely on verified information from relevant authorities concerning the Common Entrance Examination.
