The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) His Royal Highness, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has approved Thursday, 20th August 2026 for the Fidau prayer of Late Alhaja Alimat Goni Sobaloju Sulu-Gambari, one the widows of the 9th Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Zulqarnain Gambari Mohammed.

According to a statement issued by the Emir’s Spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, Alhaja Sobaloju Sulu-Gambari passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, 13th August 2026.

The 8th Day Fidau prayer will hold at the Madrasat Sheikh Alimi, inside the Ilorin Emir’s palace forecourt by 10:00am prompt.

The statement however urged Islamic clerics and sympathizers to be part of the spiritual gathering, in offering prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

The Emir prayed that Almighty Allah accept the Fidau prayers, forgive her shortcomings, grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus.
