Social media activist VeryDarkMan has announced that Martician, a young Nigerian inventor he pledged to sponsor abroad, has secured a visa to study in China.
The activist shared the update in a video, recalling how he discovered the talented teenager on Instagram in December and became impressed by his ability to design and build machines, including a washing machine and other robotic inventions.
According to VeryDarkMan, he decided to support the young inventor’s education to ensure his talent did not go unnoticed.
“When I saw him online, I said I was not going to let this boy’s talent go to waste,” he said.
He explained that he set aside $50,000 from money he had personally received as a gift to fund Martician’s education and welfare. He added that the student had spent about a month with his team while arrangements were made to secure the visa.
VeryDarkMan confirmed that Martician would begin his studies in China on October 12 and that all educational and living expenses would be covered.
“All his schooling will be paid by me. I’ll pay everything, his welfare, his feeding, everything in school. All he has to do is study,” he said.
The announcement has generated positive reactions on social media, with many users praising VeryDarkMan for fulfilling his promise and creating an opportunity for the young inventor to further develop his skills.
