Real Madrid’s new signing, Yan Diomande, has spoken of his admiration for José Mourinho, saying he would give everything to play under the Portuguese manager.
The Ivorian forward made the remarks in comments shared by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Friday, describing the strong connection players often develop with Mourinho.
“When you play for José Mourinho, you want to die for him. I am ready to die for him,” Diomande said.
The teenager also dismissed suggestions that the size of his transfer fee has placed him under pressure, insisting he remains confident in his abilities.
“They spent a lot of money because they believe in me. Why should I be scared?” he said.
“I’m not scared. I feel no pressure. I will do what I do, and God will do the rest.”
Diomande said he views the transfer fee as a sign of the club’s confidence in his potential rather than a burden.
Real Madrid recently completed the signing of the Ivory Coast international from RB Leipzig in a deal reportedly worth up to €140 million (£120 million). The highly rated forward has signed a seven-year contract with the Spanish giants as he begins his career at the Santiago Bernabéu.
