The LIKE-MINDS WOMEN FORUM on Saturday held an empowerment programme for women in Kwara State, even as it pledged continued support for the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and endorsed the Speaker of the Kwara House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakub Danladi, for governor in 2027.
The event, organized by the convener, Princess Abolanle Ajayi Adelanwa JP, was attended by APC leaders, stakeholders, and hundreds of women from across the state.
It was held under the chairmanship of the Kwara APC Chairman, Chief Sunday Fagbemi.
Speaking at the programme, Princess Adelanwa described it as “another remarkable milestone in the journey of empowering women and supporting one another.” She said the initiative was aimed at strengthening women economically and mobilizing grassroots support for the APC.
She commended Governor AbdulRazaq, CON, who is also Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, for his commitment to the welfare of Kwarans.
“His administration has continued to demonstrate huge commitment to the welfare and empowerment of the people of Kwara State,” she said.
The forum leader also appreciated Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, fondly called “Baba Igbomina” by the group, and Hon. AbdulLateef Alakawa for their support toward the success of the programme.
“I do not take your support for granted. I pray that Almighty God will continue to strengthen and bless you,” she added.
Princess Adelanwa urged members of the forum to remain united and focused, and to intensify efforts at promoting the policies of the APC at the grassroots.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. As grassrootsers, we need to spread the gospel of good governance of APC to the grassroots,” she said.
She further announced the forum’s endorsement of Governor AbdulRazaq for the 2027 Kwara Central Senatorial seat and Rt. Hon. Yakub Danladi for Governor of Kwara State in 2027.
“As Oliver Twist, we are pleading for continuation of the legacy of our gender involvement started by His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq,” she stated, praying for divine wisdom and good health for Danladi.
The event ended with the distribution of empowerment items to beneficiaries. Princess Adelanwa congratulated them and prayed that the support would uplift their families and make them agents of positive change in their communities. She also offered prayers for peace and progress in Kwara State and Nigeria.
