Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Chairman of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, has warned residents against supporting candidates or political groups opposed to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
In a video circulating on social media, Shekwolo said he would not allow anyone in the area council to work against the APC or oppose President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election.
The chairman cited development projects undertaken by the Tinubu administration and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in the area council as reasons residents should support the ruling party.
Shekwolo’s remarks come ahead of the 2027 elections, as political parties and their supporters intensify mobilisation and campaigns across the country.
The warning has drawn attention to the political atmosphere in the FCT, particularly as politicians begin to position themselves ahead of the elections.
