Arike Hopeful Hearts Foundation Launches With Focus on Women’s, Children’s Healthcare

Hajia Zainab Arike Kawu has officially launched the Arike Hopeful Hearts Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving access to healthcare for women, children and vulnerable families.

Speaking at the launch, which coincided with her birthday celebration, Kawu said the foundation was established out of a desire to serve communities and provide hope through accessible and preventive healthcare services.

She said the initiative will focus on health awareness, early detection and support for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and post-menopausal health, while also promoting basic healthcare for underserved communities.

According to her, many Nigerians face difficulties accessing essential healthcare services, with women and children often bearing the greatest burden of inadequate medical care.

“Our mission is to provide compassionate and practical support, particularly for women and children, while promoting health awareness, prevention and early detection,” she said.

Kawu described the foundation as more than a charity initiative, saying its goal is to restore dignity, encourage healthier lifestyles and bring healthcare closer to people who need it most.

She explained that the name Arike Hopeful Hearts Foundation reflects a vision of compassion, service and the belief that hope can transform lives.

The founder expressed appreciation to healthcare professionals, development partners, philanthropists, community leaders and supporters who contributed to making the vision a reality, while inviting more individuals and organisations to collaborate with the foundation.

Kawu also thanked her husband, Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu, and members of her family for their encouragement and support throughout the foundation’s development.

She pledged that the foundation would operate with integrity, compassion and a commitment to improving the wellbeing of women, children and communities through healthcare interventions and public awareness programmes.
