Five Charged Over Newborn Baby’s Death in Sheffield

Four adults and a 15-year-old girl have been charged following the death of a newborn baby in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Police found the baby girl at a house on Holywell Heights in Wincobank on Sunday morning after officers were called over concerns for her safety.

Two men, aged 19 and 38, and two women, aged 20 and 37, have been charged with murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and perverting the course of justice. Police allege the suspects took steps to conceal the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death.

The 15-year-old girl has been charged with perverting the course of justice. She cannot be named because she is a minor.

The four adults have been identified as Peter Horvath, 19, of Holywell Heights; Andrea Skopova, 20, formerly of Robey Street; Nina Horvathova, 37, of Holywell Heights; and Peter Horvath, 38, also of Holywell Heights.

All five suspects have been remanded in custody and are due to appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

Detectives are continuing their investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.
