The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has congratulated the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on his 74th birthday.

In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday, the Sultan described the Etsu Nupe as a respected traditional ruler and elder statesman whose 24-year reign has been marked by exemplary leadership, wisdom, humility and commitment to the peace and development of his people.

Sa’ad Abubakar commended the traditional ruler for his contributions to promoting peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual understanding among Nigerians.

He said the Etsu Nupe’s leadership and counsel had also strengthened the institution of traditional leadership in Nigeria.

The Sultan prayed for continued good health, wisdom and strength for the monarch, as well as many more years of purposeful service to his people, Niger State and the country.

He also prayed for the preservation of the Etsu Nupe’s reign, enduring peace and fulfilment.
